The responsibilities of an Air Quality Specialist would have a strong understanding of environmental impact assessment and permitting deliverables for projects. Responsibilities typical of an Air Quality Specialist in the Environment sector are provided below.

In addition, your role will be to:

  • Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local air quality regulations, ensuring compliance with all requirements and determine scopes of work required to meet these requirements.
  • Technical input and review of Air quality permitting, modeling, monitoring, and reporting
  • Prepare and review outputs and deliverables tailored to meet Canacre’s client needs
  • Conduct air quality assessments and analyses to identify potential compliance issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize air pollution emissions and improve air quality.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports, permits, and applications as required by environmental agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate air quality considerations into project planning and decision-making processes.
  • Stay current on emerging air quality issues, technologies, and regulatory developments.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry, or a related field
  • or Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or other closely related technical degree
  • Professional air quality project experience, including permitting, modeling, monitoring, and reporting (preferably in consulting)
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local air quality regulations, including knowledge of the Clean Air Act and relevant EPA regulations
  • Experience conducting air quality assessments, emissions inventories, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience in impact assessment inputs would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in permitting related to concrete batch plants would be considered an asset.
