As a Tribal Engagement Specialist at Canacre, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and assistance on strategies, policies, and programs covering Federal-Tribal government-to-government affairs and policy. You will lead stakeholder engagement and establish new pathways for Tribal participation in Canacre’s policy-making processes and project promotion practices.
You will assist or at teams lead the development and implementation of Canacre’s nationwide community engagement and outreach strategy, including developing campaigns to implement Tribal consultation and coordination activities. You will represent Canacre and our clients in interactions and consultation with Tribal leaders and government organizations.
You will develop and provide recommendations to Canacre management on proposed or ongoing government-to-government consultative and coordination activities with and affecting Tribal Nations and organizations. You will provide authoritative input, expert advice, and guidance to Canacre division leaders and management on proposed plans and implementation of programs, workshops, and seminars designed to educate Tribal leaders and members about current Canacre projects.
You will communicate with Tribal government leaders, Native organizations, media representatives, trade associations, industry leaders, and business entities regarding significant Tribal policy and rulemaking matters pending in federal agencies. You will keep abreast of developments affecting Tribal governments, Native communities, their members, the communications industry, and consumers.

Requirements:
- Knowledge of Federal-Tribal government-to-government affairs and policy
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and community outreach
- Ability to develop and implement nationwide engagement and outreach strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- BS or BA in sociology, psychology or public administration or similar discipline of study
- Able to travel up to 50% of a given month. Up to 50% travel can be expected during heavy workloads.
